UN ECOSOC SPECIAL CONSULTATIVE STATUS GRANTED TO KOHUR

KOHUR has participated UNPFII since 8th session and also had presented paper and submitted a paper on the plights of the Kuki people in the 9th session of UNPFII. KOHUR also participated on the Committee on NGOs meeting since 2013. Some of its leaders have attended UN training programs in the region Asia, India and Nepal. Leaders of KOHUR have translated UN Human Right 30 Articles into Kuki language and distributed more than 5000 copies.

The UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in its Coordination and Management meeting on 25 July 2016 adopted the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs), The Kuki Organization for Human Rights Trust was granted SPECIAL CONSULTATIVE STATUS.
